We will be in the month of December just an hour from now. We all know that December is Christmas time but others have already begun to celebrate not long after Thanksgiving is over. As a matter of fact some put up the tree the day after Thanksgiving to get ready for all the festivities that go along with the day. However, we must not get boggled down in the trap of over spending causing a burden on our households. Christmas is about the birth of Christ. I love it because it puts everyone in the spirit of giving and I love seeing it but we have to do it in a way that brings glory to God and not focusing on material things.
We get so stressed wondering what we are gonna get the children for Christmas, whether or not we will have enough money to buy food for the festivities, trying to get our houses looking immaculate for our guests, trying to buy gifts for others, etc. etc. When in fact all we need to do is teach our children the true meaning of Christmas and make a habit out of giving to someone else and not loading them down with tons of material things. Stay within our budgets no matter what because let's face it if you have not saved it up during the year then you will find yourself in some trouble. And all that cleaning...girl I am telling you with all the people over no one is probably really noticing your dusty baseboards but you! Furthermore, some of those people on that gift list are probably hoping you don't get them anything because their budget has run out and they don't wanna fill obligated to get you anything! LOL...Stop stressing so much :o)
So take this year and take some of the stress off and do what you can do without pulling your hair out and sitting in a corner biting your nails after you look at the bills at the end of the month. It's only one day and we have everyday to tell Jesus how wonderful He is and give to others. So as women of God let's not put so much stress on our households trying to "DO IT BIG" but be good stewards over what you have and in doing this you are teaching your children life long lessons! Blessings to you and yours this CHRISTmas season! We love you!
